For the Wahab Family

Were the first Wahabs in America Arabs who were shipwrecked along with their horses?

Is the family connected to the pirate Blackbeard through the Howard family?

Probably no to both questions.

These questions and some others are what started Betty and I on our trek through the Wahab family records.  Believe it or not, there is quite a bit of information available on the Eastern North Carolina Wahabs.  We have gleaned as much as we can from the records that are available and put the data in a form that makes it a little easier to see the connections.  We will present that information here as we further refine it.

We store the data through a program that is available from the Mormon Church for free.  It is easy to use and really makes it easy to keep all of the relationships straight.  For those of you who use genealogy software, we can easily produce GEDCOM files and send hem to you.  Just ask us.

The first document you see below is a book of the descendants of Jobe Wahab of the 18th century.  We can publish both descendant and ancestry books and charts using the software we have.  If you have a special request, let us know and we'll get it for you.  We will be adding other books and charts to this page on a regular basis so, check back once in a while to see what is new.

A special word of appreciation is due to Neilson Wahab who possesses and has extracted information from the Family bible of Job Wahab, the grandson of the Jobe in the document listed below.  Neilson placed photo copies of the bible and the extracted information on the web through the Hyde County page of the NCGenWeb web page.  Thank you very much Neilson!
